DORMONT, Pa. — UPDATE 10:01 p.m.: Police said Cassie Nowalk has been found safe.
Police said a resident found her hiding behind a garbage can just a few blocks where she was last seen.
The search for her was massive. Volunteers and numerous police departments were involved. State police even had their helicopter up at one point.

Emergency crews in Dormont are searching for a missing 12-year-old girl.
Cassie Nowalk was last seen around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday near the Northway Community Church at the intersection of Potomac and Espy avenues, according to the Dormont Fire Department.

She’s 5 feet fall, has blond hair and was wearing a pink and gray striped shirt, teal Crocs, blue jeans and glasses.
The Dormont Fire Department is asking for people to search around their homes. They said the search has now been going on for two hours, meaning that Nowalk could possibly have made it to Brookline, Mt. Lebanon or surrounding areas.
Officials are said to be alarmed as they continue to actively search backyards.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
