Mom charged after toddler found wandering street wearing only diaper

CONWAY, Pa. — A Beaver County mother is in trouble with police after her young son was found wandering the street.

Police said they do not know how long he was outside alone.

“It was a 2-year-old and he was in a diaper. It was half off and urine-soaked,” said Sgt. Ron Sperduti, of the Conway Police Department.

A neighbor spotted the child and followed him before calling police.

“My heart dropped when I realized he was outside and police were at my door,” said Jessica Jankowski, the boy’s mother.

TRENDING NOW:

She said she was sleeping in the bed with her son Sunday morning when he somehow sneaked out of the house.

“The world. The world. I’d do everything for him. That’s my little baby boy,” she said.

Jankowski said she’s a good mom and this will never happen again.

“I couldn’t believe it. I beat myself up every day for it,” she said.

Jankowski is facing charges of endangering the welfare of children and disorderly conduct.

Social Services is also involved, but for now, the boy is still with his mother.
