PITTSBURGH — A mother believes criminal charges may be warranted after she said her daughter was recorded taking off her bathing suit in a school locker room.
The girl, 12, attends Obama Academy in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood. The alleged incident happened at the school March 20.

Cory Synan said a classmate and two other girls used a cellphone to secretly record a video of her daughter without clothes on. The video was then posted on Snapchat, which deletes messages after a certain period of time.
"They held the camera over top of the stall and videoed her while she was changing out of her swimsuit,” Synan said. "She was humiliated, you know? She's my baby."
A district spokesperson said officials have been unable to find the video in question. A report was filed with ChildLine.
Pittsburgh police confirmed they are investigating, but said they were unable to confirm the girl was changing her clothes in the video.
Synan pulled her daughter out of school and wanted the district to discipline the three girls involved. She said students are supposed to turn in their phones when they get to school in the morning.
“These girls should be expelled,” she said.
Synan also said this kind of privacy invasion should have never happened.
"You think they're going to be safe going to school - that it's a safe space - but it's not anymore nowadays,” she said.
Synan told Channel 11 that they don't have a female gym teacher at the school so there's no one to monitor the girls' locker room.
