Mother charged after newborn boy found underneath porch arraigned

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The mother charged after her newborn boy was found underneath a Lawrence County home was arraigned Monday.

Brittany Robinson is facing several charges, including criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse.

According to court documents, Robinson told police she didn’t know she was pregnant.

Robinson told investigators she was having stomach pains on Friday, took a bath and began to give birth.

According to police, Robinson told them her baby didn’t have a heartbeat or a pulse.

She hid the baby in a dresser drawer first, then later removed him and placed him in the crawl space and left for work, according to court documents.

Investigators said Robinson’s father found the baby boy when he was hanging Christmas lights.  The baby was wrapped in a T-shirt and placed in a bag.  He was seven pounds.

Police found evidence at the scene that provided knowledge to investigators that Robinson did know she was pregnant prior to giving birth, according to court documents.

Investigators said Robinson told them she never got medical care or told anyone because she was scared.
