NORTH FAYETTE, Pa. — A mulch fire near Route 22 in North Fayette Township has forced the closure of one eastbound lane Wednesday.

The fire started burning Wednesday morning in the area of Kelso Road at Wood Waste Recycling. Smoke can be seen billowing into the sky.

Firefighters are at the scene working to put out the fire as tankers bring in water.

It is unclear what started the fire.
While firefighters battled the fire, police tended to three accidents on Route 22. After one, a man said his vehicle was totaled when it was sandwiched between two others.
