Penguins development team schedules groundbreaking for new FNB Financial Center

PITTSBURGH — The biggest new office tower to go up in the urban core of Pittsburgh in decades now has a start date.

The development team of the Pittsburgh Penguins, which includes Buccini/Pollin Group, investment partner Clay Cove Capital LLC, the architecture firm Gensler and the real estate firm JLL, has scheduled a groundbreaking event on the site for the new 26-story FNB Financial Center on Sept. 1 at 11:00 a.m.

It appears to have a bit higher price tag for a project the Penguins and their team have been working to get started on this year to be able to be able to completed it in 2023, with previous announcements putting the development cost at $230 million and the details of the announcement now putting it at $240 million.
