Steelers-Browns playoff game has local town divided

CALCUTTA, Ohio — You’ve heard it before. Pittsburgh and Cleveland are bitter football rivals, just a two-hour drive apart.

What happens when you’re in the middle?

Channel 11′s Mike Holden drove to Calcutta, Ohio to find out. It’s a small town caught between two NFL teams, located on the border of West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

If you talk to the people who live there, it’s a nearly even split of Steelers and Browns fans.

“It’s so incredible that the Browns are coming to the wild-card playoffs for the first time in 18 years,” said Melissa Delsignore, of Coaches Burger Bar.

Coaches Burger Bar offers something for both fan bases on its menu. There’s a Pittsburgher and a Cleveland burger.

“Our Cleveland burger has kielbasa, BBQ, cold slaw and French fries on it. Pittsburgher has provolone cheese, French fries and Cole slaw,” said Alexandria McDole, general manager of Coaches Burger Bar.

Which burger reigns supreme? McDole said it comes down to taste.

Coaches Burger Bar is prepared for a safe and socially distant Sunday night match-up.

You can watch the game from the comfort of your couch on Channel 11. Our pre-game coverage starts at 6:30 p.m.
