Vet clinics offering curbside approach to pet visits during coronavirus pandemic

BEAVER CO., Pa. — Veterinarians are taking extra steps to protect you and your pet during the coronavirus pandemic.

Pet owners all over our area are worried they won’t be able to get help for their companions even in emergency situations, but local animal clinics said they are prepared – offering curbside service to protect people, pets and staff.

“We are seeing all appointments curbside now, so no clients are entering the building unless they are coming in for euthanasia or other extenuating circumstances,” said Diana Powell, manager at Beaver Animal Clinic.

People are now asked to call ahead and then wait outside in their cars while their pets are cared for inside.

Vet technicians greet pet owners and carry their animals inside for treatment, returning them with instructions and medication.

For owners who prefer to stay home whether from sickness or precaution, most area vets are offering a call-in service as well.
