Woman helps lead police to drug bust in her apartment

HOMEWOOD, Pa. — Pittsburgh police say a woman helped lead them to a drug bust in Homewood.

A criminal complaint says the woman asked police to get rid of the drug dealers in her Hamilton Avenue apartment.

She stated there were five to six drug dealers in her home and she wanted them removed.

When officers entered the Homewood apartment, they found three males asleep on the living room couch.

After searching the third-floor apartment, police confiscated a 9 mm pistol, ammunition, narcotics, crack cocaine and more than 100 stamp bags of heroin.

Derek Reddix, of Marshall-Shadeland, was arrested, along with a juvenile.

Reddix is behind bars at the Allegheny County Jail pending a preliminary hearing later this month.

He's charged with drug possession with intent to deliver, receiving stolen property and possessing a firearm.
