MUNHALL, Pa. — A local woman who recently lost her son in an officer-involved shooting is now fighting with her new apartment complex just weeks after moving in.
Michelle Kenney used to live in Hawkins Village but told Channel 11 she moved because her son, Antwon Rose, always wanted her to. She signed a lease a few weeks ago at The Waterfront in Munhall charging her more than $1,500 per month.

She told Channel 11 she’s dealt with major problems – from noise to plumbing issues – and many of them are going unfixed.
Kenney filed a complaint with the Allegheny County Health Department and said she isn’t happy with the responses she has gotten from her landlord and other people within the leasing office.

Kenney claimed her hallway and bathroom flooded Tuesday and that it smelled like sewer water. A maintenance man cleaned it up with a vacuum device, but she claims the water is likely still under her floor – and that the odor is still there.
“The maintenance supervisor just told me that this sewer system can back up at any point because it’s the bottom unit, and it’s just a problem. It’s always going to be a fear now,” Kenney said.
Kenney wants the company to move her out of the unit and compensate her.
Apartment officials have not responded to Channel 11′s requests for comment.
