Woman shot in chest, arm in Pittsburgh neighborhood

PITTSBURGH — A woman was shot early Thursday morning in Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood, police said.

Multiple shots were reported to have been fired just before 1:30 a.m. along Brownsville Road.

While officers were on their way to the scene, someone called 911 and said the woman who was shot was being driven to a hospital.

The woman was shot in the upper chest and arm, police said. She was alert and conscious when she got to the hospital.

Investigators had police tape up around a car on Brownsville Road. Its back window appeared to be shattered.
