Phoenix police said the man, who has not been identified, was wanted for an armed robbery that happened on a previous date, The Arizona Republic reported.

A man only identified as Todd told KSAZ he called police after recognizing the suspect while he was walking.

“He gave me eye contact, he said, ‘What’s up?’ And then he kept walking and I said, ‘That’s him,’” Todd told KSAZ. “He stole my car at gunpoint yesterday.”

The suspect got onto an apartment roof and hopped from rooftop to rooftop to evade capture. He could be seen in a video swinging from a large wire and then climbing onto the roof of another building, KSAZ reported. He slid down another set of wires before he was shot with beanbag rounds. The standoff lasted about an hour.

The man was treated for minor injuries and taken into custody, The Arizona Republic reported.
