Woman who did not like sandwich accused of attacking California restaurant worker

A California woman, who allegedly did not like the sandwich she ordered at a Stockton restaurant, is accused of attacking an employee Monday night, authorities said.

Monique Collins, 44, of Stockton, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, KOVR reported.

“We were just shocked because, over a sandwich? I don’t know why she had to end up doing that,” Analiza Alandy, the wife of Philly Cheese Steaks owner Luis Addison Alandy, told the television station.

Luis Addison Alandy told KOVR the woman said the sandwiches she ordered were not fresh and demanded a full refund.

“Our policy is if you have a complaint like if we made a mistake, either way, we will gladly replace it. But, we need the sandwich back to replace the whole sandwich,” Alandy said. “The two sandwiches (were) already eaten in half of each and the fries already half of each."

Robert Hernandez, the employee who was attacked, said Collins argued back and forth with the employees.

“When we said no after a while (of) going back and forth they just lashed out,” Robert Hernandez told KOVR.

During the argument, restaurant employees said Collins picked up a glass tip jar and threw it, the television station reported. She is also accused of hitting Hernandez with a wooden broom.

“I froze like a deer in the headlights,” Hernandez told KOVR. “Overall, I just didn’t want anyone to get hurt."
