Turnpike Tolls Jump By 10 Percent; EZ Pass Users See 3 Percent Hike

PITTSBURGH,None — Drivers will notice that it's now more expensive to travel on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Officials increased the fees by 10 percent for drivers who pay with cash. For drivers who use the EZ Pass, fees were only increased by 3 percent.

But don't look too hard to find the hikes on your ticket. The first tickets were printed without the new fares on them.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission initially voted to no longer print fares on the back of the tickets, but later decided to continue with the printed fares.

However, the first tickets for 2011 had already been printed without the fares. There is no timetable as to when the new tickets will be printed.
