Attorney Phil DeLucente is representing Risko. She said she never intended to hurt the cats.
Police have put out an arrest warrant for Michael Risko, Heather Risko’s estranged husband who faces the same charges as her.
“He did not live there for a while,” DeLucente said. “I can’t give you the exact time, but I can tell you she never put those dead cats in the garbage bags.”
Police told Channel 11 that the majority of the cats are at the Homeless Cat Management Team in Tarentum.
According to the management team, some cats have been placed into foster care while others are still in their care.
