PERRY, GEORGIA — Runners in Georgia had a little extra motivation to get in shape.
Zombie Run LLC hosts events around the country, including at the apocalyptic Guardian Center.

The atmosphere is intense at the disaster recovery training facility, which is complete with blown up buildings, cars on fire, flooded towns, deserted highways and ruined subway stations.
The main difference between the Zombie Run and a typical 5K, of course, are about 500 zombies chasing runners throughout the course.
Runners wear football flags -- lose your flag and you're out of the race but invited to be a zombie meal.
