DT Jaylen Twyman heads north from Pitt to Minnesota Vikings

CLEVELAND — With the 199th pick in the 6th round of the NFL draft, the Minnesota Vikings selected Pitt defensive lineman Jaylen Twyman.

During his Pitt career, the Washington, DC native changed his number to 97 because of his respect for NFL and former Pitt star Aaron Donald.

Twyman sat out of the 2020 for family reasons. As a sophomore in 2019 he led the Panthers in tackles for losses and was the first interior defensive lineman to lead Pitt in sacks since NFL star Donald. During Pitt’s pro day in March, Twyman beat Donald’s record for bench-press reps. Twyman registered 40, five more than Donald in 2014.
