Golf tournaments will still happen after a fire damaged part of a Western Pennsylvania country club.
The Meadville Country Club’s clubhouse in Crawford County suffered a “significant fire” Friday afternoon, the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association District 10 said in a social media post Saturday.
Video shared with Channel 11 by Sports Radio 103.9 shows flames and thick smoke pouring from the building.
The PIAA says District 10 girls and boys golf tournaments will continue as scheduled:
- Girls Individual Tournament - Monday and Wednesday
- Boys Individual Tournament - Tuesday and Wednesday
- Girls Team Tournament - Monday
- Boys Team Tournament - Tuesday
Coaches will meet at 9:15 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and the shotgun start for both days is still 10 a.m.
As of now, the PIAA says there will not be food available during the competition.
District 10 includes Crawford, Erie, Forest, Mercer, Venango and Warren counties.
