Per the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Friday injury report, cornerback Joey Porter Jr. (NIR/conditioning/back) is out for Sunday’s matchup with the New England Patriots.

Porter was listed as a limited participant for Friday’s practice after exiting Thursday’s early with a trainer.

Porter has been tabbed as dealing with a back ailment since training camp, but has also been waiting — in case you haven’t heard by now — on a new deal. Mike McCarthy’s team doesn’t talk contracts during the season, which leaves both sides in a tough spot as the budding young coverman remains sidelined.
