PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins named Marc-Andre Fleury, Larry Murphy, Jim Rutherford and Jack McGregor to the franchise’s Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
The Class of 2026 represents the second group of inductees in a three-year plan to relaunch the franchise’s Hall of Fame. The four remaining members scheduled for induction as part of the relaunch plan — Tom Barrasso, Jaromir Jagr, Chris Kunitz and Shero — will be inducted next year.
Inductees will be permanently featured in a dedicated Hall of Fame space on the FedEx main concourse level at PPG Paints Arena. An on-ice ceremony will take place before a home game against the Ottawa Senators Nov. 14.
A well-earned place among the greats.

Fleury enters the Player category in his first year of eligibility, making him the first player from the post-lockout era, which began in 2005, to enter the team’s Hall of Fame. He’s also the first player to be unanimously voted into the Penguins Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.
During his 13 seasons in Pittsburgh, Fleury led the franchise to three Stanley Cup titles in 2009, 2016 and 2017. He holds franchise records for regular-season games played by a goalie with 691, regular-season wins with 375, shutouts with 44 and a 2.58 goals-against average. He also holds playoff records for games played with 115, wins with 62 and shutouts with 10.
Also entering in the Player category, Murphy played in 410 out of 421 games as a Penguin, recording a plus-102 rating that leads all defensemen in franchise history. He registered points in eight of 10 Stanley Cup Final games during Pittsburgh’s back-to-back championship runs in 1991 and 1992.
Murphy led Penguins defensemen in scoring four times across the regular season and playoffs and he served as an alternate captain during the 1992-93 season.

The Class of 2026 will be honored with an on-ice ceremony prior to the home game on Saturday, November 14.
Rutherford was elected to the Builder category. He served as the team’s executive vice president and general manager from June 2014 to January 2021, acquiring key players ahead of winning the 2016 Stanley Cup championship and earning the NHL General Manager of the Year award that same year. Under his leadership, the Penguins won back-to-back titles in 2016 and 2017, becoming the first team in the Salary Cap Era to achieve the feat.
Rutherford finished his tenure with 276 wins, trailing only Craig Patrick and Ray Shero in franchise history among general managers.
McGregor will be inducted posthumously in the Contributor category. McGregor organized the original effort to bring an NHL franchise to Pittsburgh and served as the team’s president from 1967 to 1970. He dropped the ceremonial first puck before the team’s inaugural game and again on the franchise’s 50th anniversary in 2017. McGregor passed away on Jan. 6.
