PITTSBURGH — Isolated thunderstorms have dumped heavy rain over eastern parts of Indiana and Westmoreland counties this morning. A higher threat for storms will come this afternoon as a complex of storms drops south out of Michigan, with the main time frame to watch between roughly noon and 3 p.m.
The primary threat from storms today will be damaging straight-line winds and very heavy rainfall. We should see a nice break this evening with a couple of storms possible late tonight.
Waves of rain and storms will continue through mid-week, with the next round possible by mid-morning Tuesday and then again by the evening. Watch for high water issues, especially where the ground is already saturated from recent rain.
We’ll see a push of drier air toward the end of the week, which should deliver a mainly dry Friday and Saturday and at least a temporary reprieve from the humidity.
