Donate to the food bank, get in free at the Pittsburgh Zoo

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is hosting the second annual Donation Day on Thursday, when temperatures are expected to climb to the low 50s.

Visitors who bring a donation of non-perishable items, such as canned goods and dry goods, get free daytime admission. The donations support the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, which serves southwestern Pennsylvanians who face food insecurity during the winter months.

During the zoo’s first Donation Day in December 2021, nearly 6,000 guests brought a total of 9,029 pounds of food.
