A woman was shot and killed in an apparent domestic situation Monday night.
Brandi Marie Genova, 33, was found shot to death at a home at 13 Bestview Avenue, Bessemer, in Lawrence County, according to state police.
Michael Joseph Work, 33, has been arrested and charged in connection to her death.
State police in New Castle were notified by Work’s family that he told them he shot Genova, his girlfriend, at their residence, according to a state police report.
Troopers and Bessemer Borough police went to the Bestview Avenue home and found Genova dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
Work was taken into custody at the Union Square shopping plaza in Union Township, Lawrence County, without incident, according to state police. He was charged with criminal homicide and was placed in the Lawrence County Jail without bond.
State police continue to investigate.
