Local classroom coordinator brings interactive learning to children across the country

Trying to find normalcy during this time can be difficult -- especially for those with young kids.

With schools and learning centers being shut down, a classroom coordinator at the Allie Alligator Learning Center took matters into her own hands by opening up lessons for children all over the world through Miss Macee’s Morning Meeting on Facebook Live.

Macee Graham started her daily meetings as a way for kids to keep some structure by kick-starting the day with numbers, letters, days of the week and songs.

“I wanted to continue their learning because I feel like that’s very important for them to have consistency with their learning,” Graham said.

From there, she created a calendar with sticky notes and a plasterboard, started planning lessons with books and Miss Macee’s Morning Meetings took off!

Not only do former/current students tune in, she has people from 16 different states and multiple countries watching. Her new goal is to reach a child in all 50 states.

“This was just a simple idea that I had,” Graham said. “My passion is teaching and to have all the support that I do. It just makes my heart so happy."

Kids can tune in to Miss Macee’s Morning Meeting every Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. on the Facebook page, Miss Macee’s Morning Meeting, and Saturday mornings for a special prerecorded story.

Once people head back to work Miss Macee will be continuing her at-home learning through prerecorded lessons.
