Penn State professor to compete in first-ever ‘Jeopardy!’ Professors Tournament

CULVER CITY, Calif. — It’s time to graduate to a new level of competition for Hester Blum, a Professor of English at Penn State University.

Blum will be competing in ‘Jeopardy’s!’ first-ever Professors Tournament against instructors from 14 other colleges and universities, facing off in the ultimate test in higher education.

These elite educators will compete for a $100,000 grand prize and a spot in the upcoming Tournament of Champions. Hosted by Mayim Bialik, the tournament begins Monday, Dec. 6, and airs on consecutive weeknights until a champion is crowned on Friday, Dec. 17. Catch ‘Jeopardy!’ at 7 p.m. on Channel 11 weeknights.

“It was an unbelievable thrill to see so many brilliant professors from all kinds of schools and backgrounds come together on the ‘Jeopardy!’ stage,” Bialik said. “There was a sense of kinship and academic camaraderie among the group, along with a healthy dose of competitiveness. That energy made this inaugural Professors Tournament incredibly special.”
