Heidi Gardner, Chris Redd talk new season of ‘SNL,' pandemic changes and dream guests

“Saturday Night Live” is back! Season 46 kicked off last week with host Chris Rock and musical guest Megan Thee Stallion. To top things off, it was the show’s most-watched season premiere in four years.

As if things couldn’t get better, Pittsburgh was featured in one of the skits, and we got an inside look at the new season from “SNL” cast members Heidi Gardner and Chris Redd.

The two dished on the new season, filming and changes during the pandemic and dropped their dream guests a shoutout, so if you see them on season 46 of SNL, you heard it here first!

Catch two more new episodes with us on Channel 11 this month on Oct. 10 with Bill Burr and Jack White, and on Oct. 17 with Issa Rae and Justin Bieber.

Morgan Wallen was dropped as the musical guest for this week’s “Saturday Night Live” show after the country singer broke coronavirus protocols.
