Driver suffers medical condition, crashes into Monroeville home

MONROEVILLE, Pa. — Officials in Monroeville said a driver suffered a medical condition before driving his car into a home.

Firefighters said the accident happened on Greenleaf Drive.

"In this case we believe the individual came down the side street here, stopped, people said he started to proceed then all of a sudden he went into the house," said Monroeville Fire Department chief Harold Katofsky.

The homeowner said the car stopped just one foot from his bed. He and his wife were not hurt.

“We had damage to the rear of the house, inside the house and in about every room. There’s a crack going straight through the house,” Katofsky said.

According to first responders, the driver was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated. His name and condition were not released.
