1 person taken to hospital after shooting outside Monroeville hotel

MONROEVILLE, Pa. — One person was taken to the hospital after being shot multiple times Saturday morning outside a Monroeville hotel, police said.

Officials said the victim was shot at multiple times in the parking lot before seeking shelter in the Holiday Inn on Mosside Boulevard. Police said they found several bullets in the parking lot.

The main entrance to the hotel was closed, but a temporary one was made available for guests.

George Baker, a guest at the hotel, was awakened by police, who notified him his vehicle had been struck by a bullet.

“It’s all taped up. Hopefully it makes it all the way back to Indiana. I’ve got my fingers crossed,” Baker said.

Police said several more vehicles were hit by bullets.

Many guests staying at the hotel are from out-of-state or Canada and are in town for a baseball tournament.

The victim is a 30-year-old man from Garfield and someone police say they know well. He was last listed in stable condition.

Police searching for several suspects.
