2 Convicted In McKeesport Triple-Homicide

PITTSBURGH,None — An Allegheny County jury convicted two McKeesport men in the fatal shooting of three people who were attending a birthday party near their homes at a McKeesport housing complext last summer.

Prosecutors in Allegheny County said Isaiah Hereford, 18, and Deanthony Kirk, 20, killed a party host and two guests during a June 2010 robbery at the Crawford Village housing complex.

The jury of seven women and five men deliberated over two days before convicting DeAnthony Kirk, 20, of three counts of first-degree murder and Isaiah Hereford, 18, of three counts of second-degree murder.

Both men will face mandatory sentences of life in prison with no chance of parole when they are sentenced in November by Common Pleas Judge Donna Jo McDaniel.

Police said the gunmen pretended they wanted to buy cigarettes to gain entrance before killing Jahard Poindexter, 30, Tre Madden, 17, of McKeesport, and Angela Sanders, 23, of Wilkinsburg.

A man wounded in the shooting identified Hereford, who claimed he doesn't know Kirk even though police said phone records show Hereford and Kirk called one another more than a dozen times just before and after the shooting.

Asked to explain that, Hereford testified, "Technology is crazy nowadays."
