UNIONTOWN, Pa. — Two people were found dead Thursday night after a shooting in Uniontown, authorities said.

Fayette County 911 dispatchers confirmed that a shooting was reported on Millview Street at 7:15 p.m. and that police and paramedics responded to a residence there.

Uniontown Police Lt. Tom Kolensic said friends and family of both victims have been cooperating in solving the case.

“The family and friends of both are not resorting to violence. They are working together. It's refreshing,” said Kolensic.

Neighbors told Channel 11 they heard the incident was some type of standoff.

“(We) never got word (that) it was (a) standoff or set up to be that way.  At this point, we think an argument ensued and escalated,” said Kolensic.

Officials said it is too early in the investigation to rule out a third shooter.

Neighbors told Channel 11 that they remember Punter as a nice guy.

“He was a real nice guy. I give him credit. You could talk to him and (he was) nice as can be,” said Jesse Haigh, a neighbor.
