CRANSTON, RHODE ISLAND — A Rhode Island man who weighs just under 800 pounds says he has been kicked out of the hospital after he ordered a pizza.
Steven Assanti, 33, was being treated for his eating addiction at the Rhode Island Hospital.
Over the past 80 days, he says he's lost 20 pounds.

The goal was to get his weight down to 550 pounds so that he would be eligible for gastric bypass surgery.
When he violated his care plan by ordering the pizza, he says he was discharged.
Steven's father has been driving him around in the back of his SUV trying to help for his son.
If he has to take his son home, he says it will be a death sentence because Steven will begin eating excessively again.
The hospital refused to comment in the interest of patient confidentiality.
