MOUNT PLEASANT, Pa.,None — A man accused of flashing people in public places, specifically Walmart parking lots, is headed to trial.
Police said Ronald Shaffer is a repeat offender, arrested in connection with exposing himself multiple times to people in parking lots. Investigators said he often flashed people walking out of a Mount Pleasant Walmart.
"I seen him there before and I knew what he does," said Walmart employee Donald Fuoss.
Fouss said he spotted Shaffer several times at the Mount Pleasant Walmart where on one occasion he witnessed Shaffer exposing himself to an elderly woman.
"I figured enough was enough, just get his license plate and turn him in," Fouss said.
Fouss said as he got the license plate number, Shaffer tried to get away and ran over his foot two times.
"He ended up slamming into me and backed off me a little bit, but his tire was still on my boot and ended up turning his wheel and ran over my boot again," said Fouss.
Fouss said his foot was not hurt.
A friend of Shaffer's said he hopes that the trial will help him get mental help, not jail time.
"I wish they could make him go somewhere and get the help he needs," said Anthony Barbarino.
There's no word on when the trial is scheduled. Shaffer faces other charges in connection with a similar incident outside of the Westmoreland Mall.
