The recall involves all Beats Pill XL portable wireless speakers.
The battery can overheat, posing a fire hazard.
Apple has received eight reports of incidents, including one with a burn to a consumer's finger and one with damage to a consumer's desk.
Consumers should stop using the speaker and contact Apple for a $325 Apple store credit or electronic payment.
Apple will provide a postage paid box for consumers to mail the speaker to Apple.
The speakers were sold at Apple retail stores and major retail stores nationwide, as well as on Apple.com and BeatsbyDre.com, from January 2014 through this month.
About 222,000 being recalled in the US.
An additional 11,000 are being recalled in Canada.
