BJ’s Wholesale Club closes on site for new store at Newbury at South Fayette

SOUTH FAYETTE TWP. — The region’s first store by Massachusetts-based BJ’s Wholesale Club (NYSE: BJ) is now all but official for Newbury Market in South Fayette.

The development team leading the master plan development report that BJ’s has closed on buying the nearly 10-acre site at Newbury and plans to start construction soon on a new store in South Fayette, one of two in the works in the region along with another location in the north suburbs.

Jared Imperatore, an executive with JLL who has been representing the retail leasing at Newbury for its ownership, Thistle Financial Group LLC, confirmed the membership club big box retailer recently closed on buying land for a new store and expects to begin construction on it soon.
