PITTSBURGH — British Airways confirmed Wednesday its nonstop flights between Pittsburgh and London won’t be coming back when previously expected amid a global restructuring of the airline’s flights due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The four-times-weekly flights out of Pittsburgh International Airport were originally set to resume on March 28 following multiple delays. But nonstop flights between the end of March and November can no longer be booked on the British Airways website when they were available as late as last weekend.
“We are sorry that, like other airlines, due to the current coronavirus pandemic and global travel restrictions we are operating a reduced and dynamic schedule,” a British Airways spokesman told the Business Times in an email Wednesday when asked about the Pittsburgh flight termination. “We will be in touch with any customers whose flights are affected and advise customers to check ba.com for the latest flight information.”
