PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh-based investment firm serving the retirement plan marketplace on Tuesday announced the launch of a Multiple Employer Plan for small and midsize businesses.
DBR & Co. said it designed MEP›ONE to offer multiple, unrelated businesses the opportunity to join a single plan, capitalizing on recent legislation. The SECURE Act, short for Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement, was passed by Congress last December, aiming to improve the country’s retirement prospects. The act included the creation of MEPs which enable smaller companies to join larger qualified retirement plans such as 401(k)s, pooling their resources to reduce financial, operational and administrative costs and responsibilities.
