Despite pandemic, new Sharpsburg Caribbean restaurant is thriving

SHARPSBURG, Pa. — Denise Siddo was supposed to open her new restaurant in April, but the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions that followed put an immediate halt on any plans to renovate and open a space for dine-in service. Now, despite the setbacks, Siddo said she is working more than 16 hours a day to keep up with the demand at 2 Sisters 2 Sons, a Caribbean restaurant in Sharpsburg that officially opened on July 6.

“It was years in the making putting this restaurant together and making our food,” said Siddo, who co-owns the establishment with her sister; Marline Siddo, son; Michael Brown and nephew; Kwasi Prince. “We cook all day long and the food just goes out the door.”
