Education disrupted: Local schools quickly adapt to tectonic shifts

PITTSBURGH — Last March, in the blink of an eye, everything changed for educational institutions.

Literally overnight, students went from getting up in the morning, hopping on the school bus and arriving at school — where they were taught in-person by a cadre of teachers — to waking up, opening a laptop or iPad — sometimes never even hopping out of bed — and learning remotely.
