Franktuary to be replaced by William Penn Tavern on Butler Street in Lawrenceville

Butler Street - WPXI

PITTSBURGH — Franktuary, which first launched out a downtown church and helped to popularize the food truck trend in Pittsburgh, is closing in Lawrenceville.

The restaurant’s owners announced the decision on its website: “Sadly, Franktuary’s Lawrenceville location will permanently close its doors in winter 2022.”

The restaurant gives a date of Jan. 31 for the closing as the business shifts to solely operating its food truck for its mix of hot dogs and poutine.
