Giant Eagle to vacate headquarters building at RIDC O’Hara as Echo Realty hires Oxford Development to market it for lease

PITTSBURGH — Echo Realty took another step to prepare for life after Giant Eagle at what is now the grocer’s main headquarters at RIDC O’Hara, assigning Oxford Development Company to market the 76,000-square-foot 701 Alpha Drive building as available for lease.

After a previous report in the Pittsburgh Business Times in October in which anonymous sources indicated the property was available, Oxford recently sent out an email blast for 701 Alpha Drive, marketing the four-story building on 8.2 acres as available for a one large tenant or space could be subdivided for smaller users.

Laura Wenger, a spokeswoman for Echo, confirmed the basics of the company marketing the building in email, noting “that Giant Eagle did not renew their lease at 701 Alpha Drive.”
