PITTSBURGH — The year 2021 was a mostly positive one for local public companies and the stock market in general.
For the year, 42 Pittsburgh-area public company and major bank stocks were up 25%, beating the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which was up 19%, topping Nasdaq, which gained 21%, and just behind the S&P 500, which was up 27%.
