PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra plans to launch its 125th season digitally this fall and it will be free to the public. All remaining in-person concerts from September to December of 2020, however, have been canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“While it is heartbreaking to know that we will not be able to share the special experiences that were planned for the fall, we simply can’t be together with our audience inside Heinz Hall at this time, given current building restrictions and public health guidance,” Melia Tourangeau, president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, said in a press release. “However, as we expressed when we announced our 125th season, and is no less true today, we are extraordinary together with our community.”
