Port Authority to resume regular light rail service operations

PITTSBURGH — The Port Authority of Allegheny County announced Monday it would be returning its light rail operations to original schedules which were last seen in March before the Covid-19 outbreak.

According to a press release, Port Authority said single cars will operate throughout the day and two-car trains will remain in service during rush hour.

For the Port Authority’s buses, reduced schedules will remain for 32 of the bus routes throughout the region. As of May 18, most Port Authority bus routes resumed normal schedules following a service reduction of 25% in March.
