Charges Dropped Against Man Who Picked Cash Up Off Casino Floor

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa.,None — Charges have been dropped against an 82-year-old man who was charged with theft after picking up $15 he found on the casino floor at The Meadows Race Track and Casino in Washington County and refusing to turn it in.

William Dobosh told Channel 11 News he picked the money up after a woman threw it down and walked off. Casino officials told him he had to turn the money in, but Dobosh refused.

In court on Tuesday, all charges were dropped against Dobosh after he paid the money back to the victim.

Police said it's state law that patrons are not allowed to pick up money or chips off the gaming floor and keep it.

Dobosh said he didn't know it was a crime until police charged him with theft.

"I never had a ticket in my whole life," Dobosh said. "I didn't do nothing wrong, just picked up $5 bills and just walked away."
