PITTSBURGH,None — Linda Percy of Connellsville will appear on "Jeopardy!" on Channel 11 on Friday.
The retired physician recently taped the show in Los Angeles, Calif., after making it through an audition round in Washington, D.C.
Percy's mom made the trips to both D.C. and Los Angeles with her.
"I would really like to thank my mom. She has been behind me all the way. She came with me and made the arrangements. She encouraged me to try out," said Percy.
Percy said she has been watching "Jeopardy!" since the 1980s. She didn't do much to prepare but did take a look at the "Jeopardy!" archives online.
"It's an incredible resource. It's basically a copy of all of the shows that have been going on for the past 27 years. It gives you an idea on how to prepare and how the clues are worded. They're worded in a way that sometimes the info is right there in the clue to help you answer correctly," said Percy.
Whether you prepare or don't prepare, Percy says it's much more challenging playing on the set than at home.
"When you're playing at home, you can throw out the wrong answers and it doesn't matter. When you're playing on the set and you get the wrong answers, you lose money," said Percy.
If Percy wins, she said she's taking her mom to Las Vegas.
Percy's hobbies include gambling, knitting, sewing, quilting and crocheting.
She has a dog, Nipper, and three cats, Sophie, Bonnie and Clyde.
"Being on ‘Jeopardy!' was a life changing experience. I wish everyone could have the same experience," said Percy.
