EAST BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, Pa.,None — A search for a missing 70-year-old man in East Bethlehem Township, Washington County was called off on Monday after neighbors found a body belonging to the man.
Robert Matusky walked away from a home along First Street on July 30 and had not been seen since, police said.
Police on all-terrain vehicles and search dogs looked for Matusky in a nearby wooded area for several hours Monday morning and afternoon. Crews called the search off around 4 p.m.
The police chief in Vestaburg said the body was found in the area. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week to determine a cause of death. The coroner said a preliminary indication is that he died from an accidental fall down a hillside.
Matusky's brother said he suffered from depression and had disappeared for several days in the past.
"He's a shut in. He really doesn't go anywhere except when he gets in these moods and he will take off for a few days. But this is the longest he has ever gone anywhere," said Bill Matusky.
