PITTSBURGH,None — A Duquesne University forensic science class received a letter from a man known as the "corpse collector."
Serial killer Harrison "Marty" Graham is convicted of strangling seven women in Philadelphia then living with their rotting corpses.
The class's professor was once Pittsburgh's top homicide investigator. Ronal Freeman said the class wrote to Graham so they could understand what his thought process is.
Graham wrote a return, four-page letter to the class, which they opened on Tuesday.
"I humbly appreciate your making the time to write to this cold lonely male behind these cold lonely prison walls," the letter began.
Senior Kristen Faidley never thought she'd write a letter to a serial killer and never thought that he would write back.
"It's a whole other world with that man and what went on in his mind," Faidley said.
Graham's four-page letter did not include details of the crimes he's convicted of. Graham did promise the students that he would continue to write to them.
