Ex-Steelers QB Kordell Stewart Arrested In Atlanta

ATLANTA,None — Police said former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kordell Stewart has been charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding.

According to the police report, Stewart was traveling about 61 mph in a 40 mph zone near Windward Parkway and Compass Pointe Crossing.

Fulton County sheriff's spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said Stewart was booked into jail in the Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta Wednesday and freed on $3,000 bond about four hours later.

"He was completely cooperative throughout the incident," said George Gordon, executive officer at the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.

Stewart, 38, is scheduled to appear in court July 12

The Louisiana native and former University of Colorado standout played in the NFL for 11 seasons. He played eight seasons with the Steelers from 1995 through 2002. He also played for the Chicago Bears and the Baltimore Ravens.

Stewart, who lives in Atlanta, now works as a football analyst for ESPN.

ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said the network had just learned about the incident and was looking into it.
