Fire at vacant storefront in Jeannette being called 'suspicious'

JEANNETTE, Pa. — Investigators say a fire at a vacant storefront in Jeannette late Sunday is suspicious.

Firefighters were called to Clay Avenue shortly after 11 p.m.

They forced their way into an adjacent building to fight the fire because they have a common second floor.

No one was hurt.

“Being a vacant building, with no utilities, it's being investigated by the state police fire marshal as a possible suspicious fire,” Captain Bill Frye of the Jeannette fire Department said.

Back in April, the former Family Dollar store down the street caught fire.
