WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa.,None — A former Ringgold Elementary School teacher is facing several charges after police said he sexually assaulted a student.
According to police, Lloyd Price, 27, was charged in connection to two incidents that happened during the 2005-2006 school year while Price was a fifth grade teacher at Monongahela Elementary Center.
Monongahela police charged Price after investigating the claims of a girl, now 15, who came forward in November. The girl says Price had her stay alone with him in his fifth-grade classroom in the Monongahela Elementary Center, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her twice during recesses during the 2005-06 school year.
"This is a shocking case. Just as the school district is shocked. You feel that you can trust your teachers when you send your children into the school," said Monongahela Police Chief Brian Tempest.
The school is part of the Ringgold School District where Price was athletic director for three years before resigning in March.
Price is in the Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond.
